Skin, anti-aging

The skin is divided into three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue.

The outermost layer of the skin is the epidermis, which is constantly regenerated. The epidermis is divided into five layers: the stratum corneum, the transparent layer, the granular layer, and the spinous layer and the basal layer.

The dermis is mainly composed of collagen fiber and elastic fiber, which is directly related to the aging of the skin.

Collagen fiber and elastic fiber cross to form an elastic net, just like a spring, to keep the elasticity and tension of the skin. With the increase of age, or by ultraviolet and free radical damage, collagen fiber and elastic fiber damage, hardening, break, this will lead to the dermis network structure loose, open into concave, there will be wrinkles and relaxation on the skin surface.

Collagen and elastin are proteins found in the dermis, the layer of skin just below the epidermis (that is, the top layer of skin visible to the eyes). Both proteins are produced by special cells called fibroblasts. Collagen and elastin work together to form the building blocks of skin. Collagen is the elastic protein that supports the epidermis and prevents muscle and bone from breaking, while elastin makes skin stretchy and flexible.

Both proteins also have excellent water-locking properties that keep skin supple and hydrated. When your skin is hydrated, it stays smooth and wrinkle-free.
